ROTARY DISTRICT 9685 CONFERENCE 2021 WILL BE BREAKING NEW GROUND. ALL SESSIONS WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY PRE-RECORDED AND DELIVERED THROUGH LIVE STREAMING AND WEBINARS.
As the Rotary year draws to a close, Juliet Riseley reflects on the experience of a lifetime – working alongside her husband Ian, Rotary International’s president for 2017-18. Well, we have come to the end of a 33-month journey since Ian was formally announced as the Rotary presidential nomination for the 2017-18 year. And what a journey it has been.
IAN RISELEY OAM
Past Rotary International President Ian H.S. Riseley is a chartered accountant and principal of Ian Riseley and Co, a firm he established in 1976. He has earned many honours over the years and served as the RI President in 2017-2018.
Gregory Ross has been a Director of Australian Rotary Health since November 2013 and is the current chairman. Greg joined Rotary in Berwick in 1976, aged 28, then moved Districts and has been a member of the Rotary Club of North Balwyn since 1986. He served as Governor of District 9800 in 1991/92.
At ROTARY DISTRICT 9685 CONFERENCE 2021, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Health Clinic is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Dr RAY HODGSON
For almost ten years Dr Ray Hodgson, a specialist gynaecologist, has travelled to and from Nepal with a team of volunteers in the hope that he can make some impact on the lives of impoverished women. After finding very little in the way of women’s specialist health in remote Nepal, in 2010 he founded the charity organisation, Australians for Women’s Health (A4WH).
My name is Samuel Tokporo from South Sudan. I was a refugee in Ethiopia 1995 and Egypt 2001.
We arrived in Brisbane in October 2003. We were welcomed and given all the assistance required to start our new life. As refugees in non-English speaking country and no education for several years, I join the English class at Milperra college for six months, where I had my first encounter with Rotary during a youth leadership camp in 2004.
STEPHANIE WOOLLARD OAM
Since 2006, through education and enterprise, Stephanie Woollard OAM has devoted more than a decade to changing the lives of over 5,000 disabled and marginalised women in Nepal. At Seven Women’s HQ in Katmandhu fair trade products are created and sold both locally and internationally. In addition Seven Women now operates a cooking school attracting many overseas visitors daily as an income source and important social exchange. Stephanie strongly believes that “the best way to help is to empower women through trade not aid”.
